Our
goal is to help each student to learn independently, and to function
effectively in day-to-day situations. New Heights focuses on academic
and social development to ensure an integrated approach.

Our
School-Age Program
The New Heights school program places strong emphasis on academic
independence, social behaviour and self regulation. Our objective
is to help students develop skills and tools that contribute to
a lifetime of success. |
New
Heights School is designed for students aged 6 to 18 with autism,
Asperger's syndrome, and other related disorders who will benefit
from a program that:
* honours each student's learning preferences and strengths
* is carefully structured and predictable
* uses visual organization and supports
* is highly individualized
* has a low student to teacher ratio
The
Learning Preferences and Strengths Program
Programming and curriculum for students in the school-age classroom
follow the Learning Preferences and Strenghts model. Each student's
program is fully individualized, and addresses each child's needs
by engaging his/her unique preferences, abilities and interests.
An Individualized Program Plan (IPP) is designed and implemented
for each student by our team of dedicated professionals, and is
monitored in conjunction with parents to ensure quality and ongoing
sensitivity to each student's individual needs. |
